Scott Lenoir was a great addition to the Dogwood Press team in 2024 with The Amendment, his spellbinding suspense debut and the first volume of what he promised would be a trilogy. Scott battled serious health problems in 2025, and it is a beautiful thing to see him well enough to travel and promote his long-awaited second volume, The Reckoning. With my latest Oakdale series suspense novel, Never Let Go, planned for release this month, the decision was made to release them simultaneously and for us to do several events together. We're having a blast. And if you enjoyed The Amendment, I promise an equally powerful read the second time out.

It was like old times when John Floyd signed copies of his most recent collection of short mystery/suspense fiction, River Road, at Lemuria Books of Jackson and had a line of people that seemed to stretch into the next county. John's far too humble to brag on himself, so I'll do it here: the new book is an outstanding work and well worth your time. You can always count on John for fresh new fictional tales that pull from most any genre (police procedural, humor, Western, sci-fi/fantasy, romance) and are not only page-turners, but he populates them with fascinating characters and always includes a great plot reversal or surprise at the very end.

Our latest addition to the Sunrise Press team, author Rhonda Lynn DiBiase, sold a lot of copies of her faith-based memoir (about the death of her beloved mother and the crisis of faith that followed) immediately upon release before Mother's Day. We're gearing up for a big fall and holiday season, and don't let the somber subject matter discourage you--Rhonda skillfully weaves humorous recollections through the narrative and prompted The Clarion Ledger (Jackson, MS) book reviewer to say, "It had me wiping away tears on one page and laughing the next." A plug for one of the more unique places to buy such a book: You can catch Rhonda on Saturday, October 17 in Greenville, MS, at the Delta Hot Tamale Festival on Main Street. She will be honored to sign a copy for you at that venue, and everywhere else on her tour schedule this fall.
